Investors see four million signing up for Obamacare in 2014: survey

Investors expect 4 million Americans to initially enroll in the state insurance marketplaces created under President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act, according to a survey released on Monday, as concerns mount that technical glitches could present obstacles to enrollment.

The expectations of the investors - hedge funds, institutional clients and other investors surveyed by Citigroup, 56 in total - fall far short of a Congressional Budget Office forecast that 7 million Americans will seek subsidized health coverage through the online exchanges. Starting on October 1, Americans have six months to enroll for coverage in 2014.

As long as they can show up and get free treatment at an Emergency Room, demand for ObamaCare by the poor will be very limited.

For one thing, it will cost money.

It will also require planning and making and keeping appointments.

As I recall, the reason the Democrats passed ObamaCare was because 30 million people had no insurance.

What they didn't mention was that about 10 million of them are healthy young people, about 10 million are illegal immigrants, and about 10 million are too poor to afford it.

There is only one way you will get those three groups to invest in health insurance.....

Coercion!

I don’t think very many people at all will sign up. Most don’t even know they’re supposed to. Tell them and they’ll say “For real?”

The 46 million of Food Stamps will be signing up for "Free" Obamacare, as will about 20 million Illegals, once Amnesty is Passed.

For the rest of the country, they will be saddled with paying for the "Free" service OTHERS will get....

I totally believe that if the DEMs don’t get the sign ups they need, they will backdoor fund it by giving money one way or another to millions of “Obama’s friends”.

I am sure that they already use our tax payer dollars to prop up everything they can to make his economic numbers look not as horrific as they really are. With this being his signature accomplishment, they will do whatever it takes to not look like failures. Betcha a million bucks.

They already used Obamacare to give BILLIONS to their friends:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2849547/posts
“...Interest rates will vary between 0 percent and 1 percent... The new plans are being formed by public health activists, medical associations, business groups, hospital executives, labor unions and others.... The health reform law originally allocated $6 billion to provide loans to help co-op plans start up and meet state insurance solvency requirements. But Congress last year slashed that funding to $3.4 billion
...the government last year predicted a nearly 40 percent default rate for the loans...”

40 percent of 3.4 billion dollars is a pretty nice gift.

Giving your personal information to an ObamaCare navigator is like sending your banking info to a Nigerian emailer.

The larger question - how many will lose insurance in 2014?
