Even at the top colleges, professors may be disallowed from failing minority students anyway. (I know an adjunct at Harvard who was told this expressly.)

I didn’t know any colleges even denied it; once they let “students” in with a sixth-grade education (and I’m being generous), then how can you even hold them to an eighth-grade standard? It is actually very sad to see the bewildered look in their eyes as the white and Asian students bob their heads in understanding while the black and Hispanic students are clueless. They are years behind, and for the first time they are realizing it because nobody has been honest with them. If they qualify for a county college they put them in a state school; if they qualify for a state school they put them in the Ivy League. They therefore end up always behind, and while I resent it I pity them; they get nothing out of the schooling that way (and end up demoralized and angry).
