NEW YORK — Starbucks says guns are no longer welcome in its cafes, though it is stopping short of an outright ban on firearms.
The fine line that the retailer is walking to address the concerns of both gun rights and gun control advocates reflects how heated the issue has become, particularly in light of recent mass shootings.
Most states allow people to openly carry licensed guns in some way, and many companies do not have rules banning firearms in their stores. But Starbucks has become a target for gun control advocates, in part because of its liberal-leaning corporate image. In turn, gun rights advocates have been galvanized by the company's decision to defer to local laws.

This is a reasonable way of doing business: ask politely for customers not to needlessly alarm others.

since guns were the only thing on the Starbucks unwelcome list, let’s assume any of the following might be ok :
machetes,swords,pikes,bowieknives,spears,battleaxes,nunchaku,lances,clubs,
tomahawks,longbows,crossbows,daggers,javelins,maces,war hammers,sabers,or slingshots.
Another lie by the old media is that you need a lic to open carry in most states.
Starbucks have nothing to worry about from me, I refuse to buy their over priced “coffee”. Give me simple roadside dinner coffee.

That statement is so amazingly wrong that it’s hard to attribute it to simple, boneheaded ignorance from the dimwitted failures that ended up working in journalism. That surpasses stupidity and reaches into the realm of willful misinformation.
1. MOST states have ZERO provision for the licensing of guns. Aside from a few pisspot yankee states that shouldn’t even be a part of this country, gun licenses don’t exist nor should they.
2. MOST states allow open-carry of firearms without any licensing of either the gun or the person. Ya see there’s that little bit of the constitution that recognizes a person’s right to BEAR arms.
3. MOST states allow lawful CONCEALED carry by licensed PERSONS. While some states list on the person’s license what arms are to be carried, it is still the person that is licensed and not the gun.
In one line the author of that article was able to get each of the above three items utterly wrong. I can understand being wrong once, or twice, but thrice in once sentence stretches credibility.
Do some of these fifth-columnists in the media consciously try to spread misinformation about guns and gun law in order to enforce ignorant, stupid stereotypes that support anti-gun sentiments? Does implying that gun registries and licensing exist on a mass-scale, and implying that concealed carry is illegal, support a wider gun-control agenda?
Depends on the Goal of having gun free zones. They may work EXACTLY as planned...

My gun will not be bringing me to Starbucks as long as this policy is in effect.
There is a small but significant difference between asking customers not to carry and outright forbidding it. But I don’t go to Starbucks anyway; too many libs and other undesirables hanging out there, and I like Dunkin’s coffee better.
