I have not heard him lying. He sounds reasoned to me. He says he is defending his country from the Islamist terrorists sent it by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Can’t blame him for doing that.

Assad has handled himself quite well despite having to do the interview in English. He is making the reporters look a little foolish poking holes in their assertions.
Assad is a tyrant, but this interview will help him--not hurt him.
