Growing IRS Scandal Requires A Special Prosecutor
Investors.com ^ | September 18, 2013 | Editorial

Corruption: As the layers on the IRS scandal are peeled back, it's become increasingly clear the law has been broken and the White House may have been far more deeply involved than claimed. Time for a special prosecutor.

A House investigation has found that, far from being a case of "rogue agents" in Cincinnati as the White House has claimed, the IRS harassment of conservative groups appears to have been directed from the very top in Washington, D.C.

IRS employees say they were made "acutely" aware as far back as 2010 that President Obama wanted to go after tea party and other conservative groups, the Washington Times reports. Not wanting to disappoint, they did what they thought they were supposed to do.

"As prominent politicians publicly urged the IRS to take action on tax-exempt groups engaged in legal campaign intervention activities," the House report said, "the IRS treated tea party applications differently."

That's bad enough. But other newly discovered IRS documents, USA Today reported Wednesday, "show the agency flagged political groups based on the content of their literature, raising concerns specifically about 'anti-Obama rhetoric,' inflammatory language and 'emotional' statements made by nonprofits seeking tax-exempt status."

A 2011 IRS document named 162 groups — along with comments by IRS lawyers in Washington. Just 11 of those were liberal or "progressive" in political orientation. The political bias is absolutely clear.

I’ll take “Let’s Go Straight To Impeachment” for $200 Alex.

The Dems and their propaganda arm (the US “news” media) will fight this every step of the way, calling it a “witch hunt” and”a waste of time when there is so much pressing business for the government”. Like they cared about that stuff during Watergate.

Impeachment is the first step, criminal prosecution is the second. Obama should be wearing an orange jump suit for this. He and Michelle should have been rposecuted for their real estate scam.

Agreed...The Rats and enemedia will not let this happen, but I believe a SP is more than warranted.

Impeachment should happen, even if it’s certain the Senate won’t convict, the turkey in the WH deserves that for his legacy.

You know those little trees the Japanese grow? Obama is doing such a good job with this country I now refer to him as Bonsai Barry. I should do a graphic of that.

When government becomes tyrannical people start dishing out justice on cold platters.

I’m no expert on Bonsai but I believe they do that by cutting the roots, sounds appropriate for Bonsai Barry and will be looking forward to the graphic.

I’m reading a book on the federal investigations into MCA records, the mob, and other corruptions in the music industry in the 1980s.

I’m in the final hundred pages of a nearly 500 page book. The lead investigator has been taken off of some of the cases and otherwise stifled as someone(s) within MCA called in political connections in the Justice Department and IRS to get the investigator off the cases.

Seems former justice department officials went into the private sector to work defense AGAINST charges by the government and used their connections within the government to shut things down. Additionally the investigator encountered a judge who was friendly on a personal level to the mobster who first came under prosecution.

Even with good men doing an investigation, the corrupt crooks in unelected offices can still see to it that nothing ever comes of it.

Stiffed: A True Story of MCA, the Music Business, and the Mafia Hardcover
by William Knoedelseder

And as to attempts to put the blame on MCA ties to “Reagan”, a former head of the DNC was a board member at MCA who was apparently was flexing political muscle on this case (also mentioned in the book).

They will. And it is pure projection. THEY engaged in a naked witchhunt against "tea party patriots".

First thing that came to mind in these federal prosecutions was that he should have sought a change of venue from the Los Angeles area. WAY too many music/political/mob ties there.

The drug dealer who had John Holmes and others whack the theif who robbed the dealer’s home was connected to politicos in LA. He never served time for the murders, I think he was eventually jailed on tax issues.

If I recall from reading some books on some of the charges against radicals in the 1960s, there would be a felony "conspiracy" charge to commit a misdemeanor.

Shades of using Scooty Libby's "perjury" to convict him for the non-disclosure of Valerie Plame.

Plenty of prosecutable perjury and deliberate misleading testimony in a federal investigation going on in the Fast and Furious, IRSScandal, and Benghazigate cases.

They'd rather chase after Roger Clemens.

and sooner or later they will throw the book at George Zimmerman for failing to use a signal to turn into his driveway or jaywalking across an alley.

They could drive him to alcoholism and an early grave as happened to Joe McCarthy and Alan Freed. Forever infamous and cast out of society.
