An Alabama family recounted to FoxNews.com a chilling airport encounter they had last month with the man they believe went on to gun down 12 people at a Washington military facility, and said the confrontation was triggered by the hearty laugh of a 75-year-old matriarch.

“We were just laughing and talking and he came over and said we were laughing at him,” Rosalind Baugh told FoxNews.com, speaking of Aaron Alexis, the troubled former Navy Reservist and government contractor who went on a shooting spree in the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in southeast Washington Monday.

The end of the article states they said “they could have been killed.” No way...the efficient TSA would have ensured that he had no weapon.

But the guy was crazy. I also think affirmative action or fear of the diversity po-leece played a role in no action being taken against him. Which is exactly why Nidal Hissan was not dealt with before he went on his rampage.

One of my favorite lines:

“We’re not laughing at you...

we’re laughing NEAR you!”

I knew a guy who was paranoid schizophenic and his behavior was just as described in the article. With the right medication he would be ok for a time then the symptoms would return. He was unable to keep a job for very long because he thought people were laughing at or conspiring against him. IF in fact the guy at the airport was Alexis, it should have been obvious that he was mentally ill.

Did you think that you were a moose that sometimes disguised himself as a duck?

"I knew a guy who was paranoid schizophenic and his behavior was just as described in the article."

Was slingin' wrenches for a company years ago and one of my "co-workers" (large black guy) just started screaming at me claiming I was "always laughing at him", and now he was gonn'a make it stop as he charged after me - three guys had to hold him back while they called security.
Damndest thing I ever saw. Just totally out-of-the-blue. Normally a quiet, pleasant guy.
He would have broke me in two if he caught me.

Very enterprising of the reporter that ‘uncovered’ this witness.

We know it is true because they always fact check etc etc...

Maybe we should put him on the job of finding BO’s transcripts or even someone who REMEMBERS him from class?

Pulitzer winning material???

Funny how an absolute ‘nobody’ does something to get recognized and they can tell us what he had for breakfast 10 years ago and how many classes he skipped while in grammar school.

I hope they release what mess he was taking.

It was posted yesterday: he was prescribed Traxadone for insomnia. I don't think he was ever diagnosed with any particular mental illness -- at least it hasn't been reported.

If you read the article, you'll find this:

Three days later, Alexis told police in Newport, R.I., that he believed people he had gotten into an argument with at an airport were following him and laughing at him from another room. Newport police provided the report, along with their concerns about Alexis’ mental instability, to local Navy officials. The Navy has not commented on what steps were or were not taken.

So, there is some corroboration. We don't know it was the same family, but it's certainly more than a coincidence.

I wasn’t entirely ‘tongue in cheek’ when I mentioned fact checking.

My point(?) being— we, as a country, would not be in the mess we are in if our glorious press would have ‘done their job’ long about the time this ‘interloper’ burst on the scene, then proceeded to destroy Jack Ryan.

Actually what Ryan was ‘accused of etc’ would have made him a Pres candidate were he a D.

My wife was given a prescription once for something I don’t remember and I was awakened at three in the morning by her hammering on the living room wall! She had decided that was a good time to hang pictures. I had to threaten to leave to get her to stop. She flushed the rest of the bottle.
