Greenhouse gases....predominately carbon dioxide. Also water vapors, methane, ozone. They absorb infrared heat like a sponge and trap it in the atmosphere....the greenhouse effect. Causes the atmosphere to heat up and melts the icecaps.....but it also causes plants/trees to grow faster because they use CO2 in photosynthesis....this creates more water vapor/rain and so on...

The more CO2 the faster plants, trees, algae, etc grow....when they die the keep the C02 trapped in them...they become coal over eons, decompose and become methane, etc.

When coal and oil is burned it releases all the trapped C02 back into the atmosphere.....cycle begins again. We are releasing more C02 than is being banked by the plants.

That is the narrative. It is true...but fast vegetative growth is good. We eat them and build houses from them. Rain is good. Warm weather is....well, good.

They make it bad to attack coal. To restrict the use of coal weakens and impoverishes America. Just like preventing domestic oil development.

That is the end game. Weaken the US and deny her use of her own resources.

The enviro whackos are just useful idiots used by the internationalists. They are no different that the 1960’s anti-war protesters and 70’s and 80’s nuke disarmament morons. Pawns in the great game.

As I’ve mentioned, Obama has not just done damage over the last 5 years, or will do it for the next three years, he’s done very long term damage to the economy. No business in their right mind will ever build a coal plant again. No financial institutions would finance it anyway. Even if a miracle happened and a real conservative was elected in 2016, these people think in much longer terms. Another Obama, or even worse, is never more than four years away.

Also, the auto manufacturers are already working on the engines and technologies of 2020 and beyond, based on the MPG rules demanded by Obama and his buds. These will not be cheap and, the price of aluminum, which is certain to be used more in vehicles, is heavily tied to the price of electricity. I’d expect to be paying 40-45K in 2013 dollars for an average gas-powered car by then. If not for the cost of the car itself, then to subsidize the electric car buyers so that consumers will buy more of them, satisfying the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) rules.

These realities are baked-in, and not much can be do to fix them.
