Hello, My name is Tom Broderick, and I am a citizen of the United States of America.

In recent days I have been reading the news and watching world events

It has become increasingly clear that there is a great element of distrust between the leaders of my Country and yours. This distrust is increasing as each day passes and I am concerned that it will eventually lead to another

Some American leaders, for what ever their reasons are, try to capitalize on

Here in America, regular every day people like myself, find it increasingly difficult to sift through all the political nonsense and understand why there are such tensions between our respective leaders.

We cannot understand why there is not more communication between our political leaders and more cooperation, sharing and understanding.

can't we all just get along and live our daily lives?

like to take this opportunity, as just an average American citizen, to invite the Russian President Vladimir Putin to come to my humble home, share a meal with my family as our honored guest, and show the American people and leaders that he is not a threat to the world,

I live in a typical middle income American development.

average working people who struggle daily to make ends meet.

am concerned for the future of my two sons and the future of world affairs.

Russians like to stress that Stalin was a Georgian, as if to absolve Russia for his crimes and instead blame them on Georgia, as if Stalin imposed Communism on Russia on behalf of Georgia. That could not be further from the truth. In fact Stalin was behind the Bolshevik invasion and conquest of Georgia in 1921. Stalin did not conquer Russia for Georgia, he conquered Georgia for Russia. During the Soviet Conquest of Georgia, the Ossetians (like Stalin) sided with the Soviets against the Georgians. Putin’s Chekist Neo-Soviet invasion of Georgia on behalf of the Ossetians is a continuation of Stalin’s Boslhevik hostility towards Georgia

BTW, a fact that Stalin’s mom PROBABLY was half-Osetian doesn’t make Stalin non-Georgian at all.
Fanatical hatred of all things Russian is another strange thing making Georgian president resemble Castro and Georgia a Cuba.
I’m not defending Russia but such an anti-Russian position for a neighboring nation is very similar with Cuban anti-Americanism.
What about earlier history? Wasn’t Russia a nation protected Georgian Christians from imminent annihilation by the Turks?

I don't speak for Georgians. I am not Georgian, I am an American. Georgians do not hate Ossetians and they do not hate Russians. The President of Georgia does not hate Russians, he loves Georgia and he hates the Russian occupation of Georgian land.

The Georgians agreed to an treaty with Russia in 1783 in which guaranteed that the Georgian monarchy would remain on the throne. In 1795 the Persians invaded Georgia. Russia ignored the 1783 treaty and did nothing to help the Georgians. The Persians burned Tbilisi to the ground on September 11, 1795. In the following years it was easy for Russia to annex the devastated Georgia which they had betrayed and depose the Georgian monarchy in violation of the Treaty of 1783.
