FReepers, myself included, have spoken with a lot of bluster on this subject. I will say that I felt completely blindsided and betrayed by this doctor when she asked these questions. They were completely inappropriate, asked at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons. When you’re behind that closed door with your physician, you’re expecting a private experience where you can be honest and open about your life and health. When they start asking questions about your sex life, your sexual preference, and whether or not you’re a law-abiding gun owner, you feel completely betrayed and dumbstruck.
I was literally struck dumb. My mouth must’ve been agape for a good 20-30 seconds. I never thought I’d see this day where irrelevant requests were made of me in the privacy of a doctor’s office. I honestly felt like there was a government proctor sitting in the extra chair in the exam room scribbling notes on a legal pad. It took every ounce of stomach I had to be polite and thoughtful.
Absolutely, ya don't have to be ugly or rude. Just play with them. Come up with some clever answers that leave their mouths open for a bit.

Sexual preference - I prefer myself or Rosies my girl, yes she is, lovin my Rosie.

Law abiding gun owner? As far as you know doc. or Ever since that gun jumped off the counter and killed that burglar, it packed it's things and went on a road trip.
