Rand is not saying it is not possible to defeat obamacare. He is just noting that the GOP is majority led by establishment types who are gonna fold like accordions and that is why defeating it, at least this yea, may simply be too tall of an order. The House can eliminate obamacare, but is not gonna go through with it unless there are many more Rand Pauls and Ted Cruzes. Paul seems to be simply saying that the GOP elites who are the majority in the House are way too weak willed to join him and Ted Cruz in the trenches.

I agree it is pretty much a no brainer, he is saying he doubts the House resolution could emerge from a Senate debate unscathed and unamended.

Cruz is trying to instill some backbone into the Republicans and has succeeded in doing that in the House. Now he’s working on the senate Republicans. Rand Paul doesn’t help by making defeatist surrender monkey statements.

He never said any such thing and he is not the one leading the fight, that would be CRUZ.

Rand Paul “We probably can’t defeat or get rid of Obamacare,”
Paul is the one that folded.
