The Navarro County Sheriff's department confirms that five members of a family were found dead inside of a home near the town of Rice, about 44 miles south of Dallas. The deceased include two adults and three children, all under the age of 12.
Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner told NBC 5's Catherine Ross that the home is known to law enforcement.
Actually we have been to this location in the past. Weve actually had one call here this year," Sheriff Tanner. "I havent had an opportunity to confirm what those calls have been in the past. Ive heard from the call center that over two or three years, officers have been to this location.
I dont care where you are. Any time theres five losses of lives in one location, thats shocking and traumatic," said Sheriff Tanner. "It doesnt make any difference where you are. Its a horrible, horrible thing to see, witness or be a part of.
The sheriff's department said dispatchers received a call around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
A man reported that five members of his family were dead inside their residence on County Road NW 0149.
Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene shortly after and confirmed the deaths of five people.
The death investigation is confined to inside the home.
"As far as looking for a suspect, what Im saying at this point in time is that we are concentrating our efforts on the investigation at the residence," Sheriff Tanner said. "We have not seen anything yet that makes us think we need to go outside this location.
The Navarro County Sheriff's Department has planned a news conference to update the public about the case Monday at 9:00 a.m. in Corsicana.
Sad......
Must have been young adults...
Hmmm...domestic violence taken to its sad ending?
We'll see what is what but my money is on Illegal Dependents of Obama and likewise drugs being involved--
Were these American citizens or illegal aliens? Not that it matters for such a sad ending but it would be nice to know. The “Spanish speaking” is why I ask.
May all Rest in Peace
“The deceased include two adults and three children, all under the age of 12.”
So the adults were under 12 ?
Hard to say without more info. It could be something like carbon monoxide poisoning, too. It’s that time of year.
