2 Adults, 3 Children Found Dead Inside Home In Rice (TX)

The Navarro County Sheriff's department confirms that five members of a family were found dead inside of a home near the town of Rice, about 44 miles south of Dallas. The deceased include two adults and three children, all under the age of 12.

Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner told NBC 5's Catherine Ross that the home is known to law enforcement.

“Actually we have been to this location in the past. We’ve actually had one call here this year," Sheriff Tanner. "I haven’t had an opportunity to confirm what those calls have been in the past. I’ve heard from the call center that over two or three years, officers have been to this location.”

“I don’t care where you are. Any time there’s five losses of lives in one location, that’s shocking and traumatic," said Sheriff Tanner. "It doesn’t make any difference where you are. It’s a horrible, horrible thing to see, witness or be a part of.”

The sheriff's department said dispatchers received a call around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

A man reported that five members of his family were dead inside their residence on County Road NW 0149.

Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene shortly after and confirmed the deaths of five people.

The death investigation is confined to inside the home.

"As far as looking for a suspect, what I’m saying at this point in time is that we are concentrating our efforts on the investigation at the residence," Sheriff Tanner said. "We have not seen anything yet that makes us think we need to go outside this location.”

The Navarro County Sheriff's Department has planned a news conference to update the public about the case Monday at 9:00 a.m. in Corsicana.

This is just up the road from me and our local rag reports this morning: “Sheriff Elmer Tanner said in a press release deputies received a 9-1-1 call about 7 p.m. Sunday from a Spanish speaking male reporting a “multiple fatality incident’ at the home, telling the dispatcher that five members of his family were deceased inside the residence.”

We'll see what is what but my money is on Illegal Dependents of Obama and likewise drugs being involved--

Were these American citizens or illegal aliens? Not that it matters for such a sad ending but it would be nice to know. The “Spanish speaking” is why I ask.

Hard to say without more info. It could be something like carbon monoxide poisoning, too. It’s that time of year.
