God bless you. Special needs for sure, but soany don’t. get the sibling groyps and how much that keeps children healthy having their brothers and sisters. Prayers up for you.

Here is a longer treatment on them. These two gay dads are not shy, they do get their story out onto the internet. Here is more detail. I like their policy of reuniting siblings. They started with biracial children. Everyone knows it is hard to find adoptive parents or foster homes for them.
It’s all about the children. Recruiting them at a young age that is.

My wife and I had two children through the foster care program in 2008 (sister & brother), they lived with us as foster children until 2012 when we adopted them. We never received or asked for anything from the gov. not even the monthly check from the state, for children in foster care. When we enrolled them in school, they tried to get us to take the “free” lunch and breakfast, we refused.
They were on medicaid until we got legal guardianship in 2009. It was a condition of us getting them or they wouldn’t have had it. When we obtained legal guardianship, I was allowed to put them on my insurance.
While they were on medicaid for approx 1 year, they each had 1 dr. visit, I never even told the dr.s office that they were on it, I just paid cash.

We paid all legal fees for the adoption and claimed the adoption credit for that on our taxes, for our efforts we were audited by the I.R.S. They found our return to be 100% accurate and we received our refund about two weeks ago.

You and your wife, sir, are a one in a million. I know first hand what a difference being adopted can make in a child’s life as I was one of those children but many, many years ago before the existence of all the federal programs.
I also recognize that some people can only adopt if they have financial assistance and help from professionals which oftentimes is incredibly expensive. A lot of these kiddos have such tremendous problems and have endured more in their short lives than many people have in a lifetime. There will always be people who game the system.
But thank God there are people like you and your wife who do provide a home for these children because your hearts are full of love. May God bless you and your new family.
