God Bless the people in the area.

I really do hope it was not arson.

At the Link- It is noted that the fire is burning in nearly the same place, as one that broke out 2 weeks ago. Seems a little odd to me.

given the location I doubt that it was caused by the residents of a “homeless encampment”

I live in Northern CA btw

Just drove by there about a half hour ago on way home from work. Was surprised to see the extent of the destruction. When I lived in the adjacent Bradbury area my dog and I used to go there for runs and walks along the SG river. Nice quiet area .... God Speed to those that that are in danger of losing their home sweet homes.

There isn't anything at the link about the cause of the previous fire. There is only a mention by someone that there was a fire 2 weeks ago? I checked some other local news sources, but there is nothing.

The latest on the local news is that the fire has grown to 40 Acres , but that the winds have died down.

This is good because I think the water dropping helicopters and planes can't fly at night.

They also mentioned that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

I know the area. When I was 17 I made the run from Crystal Lake to Azusa in 40 minutes, and that was stopping at the SG River bridge to allow my passenger to have a cigarette.

NCA is nice....agree..But it’ll be destroyed if allowed...Like so many other places.....Some in these parts think a paved landscape with a strip malls every block for 150 blocks is somehow a neat or cool...As they decorate McDonald’s franchises as attractive and trendy upscale cool places with palm trees n’ loose loud women.

What gives?

Come on. Who buys this cheet? I see nasty cowflop.

I went out earlier, and saw how low on the mountain the fire was burning. Not surprised that some homes are in danger. (I was hoping to see it higher up toward the uninhabited areas.)

The weather is supposed to be much cooler tomorrow. That should help. Prayers that they get it out quickly.

I remember going camping/off roading with friends in Azusa canyon-but that was years ago. I bet they don’t let anyone off road there now.

.... Holy cow 40 minutes .... darn good time ..... heck .... takes me that long to hit the area on my 10 speed LOL ... bet you ran during the cool season otherwise you woulda fried. I was floored when I saw how low that fire was. Where I used to live there are a lot of horse owners and even breeders in the area. At any sign of fire within a five or so mile radius a lot of them would go to all of the trouble to load critters and prepare to flee as a precaution. Major headache but fires can move very fast when it’s dry and the wind changes direction.

Thanks for posting. My eyes have been burning all evening, especially when we took the dogs out around 8 PM. This only happens if there’s a fire in the area and I hadn’t heard or seen anything. We must be downwind. I suspect tomorrow my car will be covered with a fine layer of ash.
Heard on the radio to wash it off ASAP b/c the ash is acidic and will ruin the paint.
Hope it’s put out soon...and that people, animals, homes are OK...

It IS fire season in California.
