what is the status of the fire this morning? Son lives in Glendora, daughter in La Verne.
We are west in Eagle Rock, up against the hills.

Evacuation orders have been lifted. Fire is now approx. 200 acres. 5% contained. Water dropping planes and helicopters will be flying as soon as sun is rising. Unfortunately some high winds are expected, but the temps are expected to be cooler- possible drizzle for tommorow morning.

Correction- ABC news just reported that evacuations are continuing? No homes are threatened at this time. Precautionary measure in case the winds change.

that sort of “city planning” serves the NEEDS of the TV addicted low info types..

wever got a lot of so called “Open Space” including many many miles of opem fire trails....where Ive been known to ride my my electric bicycle.

being that Marin County is the birthplace of the mountain bike...those hills and trails will remain regardless of the need for new real estate...

I fully expect a major fire here before november!

as I understand it this morning....the airborne fire crews had to wait for sunrise to start flying again.

Thanks!! I showed your photo to the people I work with and everyone loved it.

This morning I could see a huge line of thick smoke along the foothills, looks like the fire is still burning. I took an Advil b/c I have a headache. I live along the foothills and it seems like no matter where the fire is, it settles in my area!!

Fire is still burning at this particular moment in time. It is approximately 250 acres. I live in La Verne and have family in Glendora; neither community is in danger right now (although we get a bit of smoke now and again). The fire has burned back into the mountains from Azusa and is not presently a danger to residents of Azusa other than air quality (and a little bit of fine flaky ash).

The fire’s been dubbed the Madre Fire, and you can see a map of its present burn area here: http://inciweb.org/incident/3737/
