The Washington Post ^ | September 24, 2013 | Sean Sullivan,

Posted on 09/24/2013 9:09:58 AM PDT by yoe

The top two Republicans in the Senate made clear Monday they will not join Cruz’s call for a filibuster of a government funding bill that cleared the House last week. Their decisions signaled that the fiery freshman’s plan isn’t good politics even for Republicans facing conservative primary threats and reinforced a widely held view that it won’t work in practice.

Someone named Dwayne Stovall is running against Cornyn. Don’t know much about him yet other than his link on the internet. Might want to check him out. There’s also a Get Rid of Cornyn Texas Ping on FR you might want to look into.

McConnell and Cornyn have only exposed themselves as collaborators with the Democrats. They should switch parties now and save us the trouble of voting them out in the next primary.

At least Boehner got the house to act, and they passed the CR defunding Obamacare. I don’t like Boehner either, but at least he did right here.

I’d like to know why there is anything language for Harry Reid to Strike out of the House Bill in the first place. If the House Bill doesn’t include funding for Obamacare, wouldn’t Reid need to add language to fund Obamacare? What did stupid Boehner write in the Bill, “This $1 billion dollars of this budget will not go to Obamacare”?

From what I have heard, he did it by attaching a separate provision defunding Obamacare, rather than just not including funding for it in the bill. As a result, Harry Reid can remove it with 51 votes. Very sneaky. That is why Cruz is going through the fight to force it to be removed with 60 votes. So I don’t think Boehner has been converted, this is just another one of those phony votes against Obamacare. It won’t be real until the House says no to what comes back from the Senate, and lets the government shut down.

Or the other possibility is that both McConnell and Cornyn are just crony politicians who have been bought and paid for.

All this, because Harry Reid refuses to do his Constitutional duty to pass a budget.

When are we ever going to go back to regular order in Congress?

“From what I have heard, he did it by attaching a separate provision defunding Obamacare, rather than just not including funding for it in the bill. As a result, Harry Reid can remove it with 51 votes. “

No, Boehner and Cantor were going to do something like that and they got stopped.

In the Senate any bill can be changed after a cloture vote by a 51 vote majority if a “striking” amendment is pending.

And that’s exactly what Mitch and group are letting Harry do despite Cruz’s campaign.

As for Boehner he probably is all in on the Senate plan to send it back to him with Obamacare and have it passed there by RINO and Dem votes- like usual.
But hope springs eternal...

For us to re-invent the Rep party will take years and a consistent effort, I just don’t think we have the will or the numbers.
