“Maybe Cruz was taking micro-second long power naps every 4th micro-second...some kind of crazy ninja power he learned from an east asian guru.”

lol. It was a sight to behold!

I hear that others have held the filibuster floor longer, but I doubt anyone has done do while staying on target (IIRC, others read recipes, etc, etc) with so little help to pick up the filibuster slack-— not in any way to diminish those Repubs who spoke...especially Mike Lee and necessarily silent House member Gohmert, who flew in to be present on the floor to support Cruz and stayed all night.

At around 8pm, Cruz read Green Eggs and Ham and a Bible story from Proverbs to his children.

Other than that refreshing interlude, I don’t know of another instance when he got off-point from his central message.

It was a sight to behold!

I was leaning towards supporting Cruz for President next go-round, mainly because the process of elimination was slowly wiping everyone else out. But now I'm wholeheartedly in his camp. Not even so much because of what he did yesterday but because of how well he did it. He has a truly gifted intellect. And he has enough charisma and emotion in his speaking style to come off well to the average voter. He's not robotic like Romney and not a blubberer like Rubio. His mind works just as hard and just as well on political strategy as it does on his ideological positions. He not only has the right ideas but seems like he'd have the ability to win.

I supported Newt Gingrich last time. Cruz is definitely reminding me of Newt from his days in the House. Cruz is an intellectual heavyweight and a determined fighter. I can't imagine the size of the target that must be on his back right now from the media, the left, the RINOs. We need to all pray he and his career survive the next couple years. If he does, then he will develop even more strength as a primary candidate. In that sense it's good that he's inviting the fire early on so that he can start immunizing himself for the potential knock-down, drag-out, no-holds-barred death match with Hillary.
