Well, what he said to the gynecologists was clearly and purely his own words on his own intiative: that the unborn child has the face of Jesus Christ, the face of the Lord! This makes the rejection and slaying of the child akin to killing the Lord Jesus: a quite Biblical judgment: "Whatsoever you do to the least of My brethren, you do unto Me."

The canonical penalties against Mr. (formerly Rev.) Greg Reynolds must have been "in the pipeline" for quite some time, probably being initiated under Pope Benedict; still, nothing would have come out over Pope Francis' signature unless he had wanted it so. So I give him credit for that as well.

Its almost funny to see how bumfoozled the media people are about this.

Good. The churches are starting to rot from within. It's about time the Vatican cleaned it's house. Maybe they can be the first to lead the rest of the world back to the narrow path.

I think it makes a big difference when a priest comes out openly and supports homosexual marriage (not gay marriage) and endorses homosexuality.

This action will set straight all the priests, Bishops and Cardinals who have indulged in Holy Communion for Pelosi, Biden, and all the rest.

This screams of complicity certainly to many western priests, and throughout the heirarchy for their favored treatment toward these politicians who have played so fast and loose with the faith and bringing scandal to the faithful.

Maybe it was blow back on the media and the Lefty Catholics, who were wrongly thrilled about the Pope’s interview last week, the one everyone turned upside down from the truth.
I, also, thought the timing odd, given the thrill of the Marxists with the Pope’s every utterance.

Which is very likely exactly what it is. Taking such an action against a priest requires a long, formalized legal examination. Pope-Emeritus Benedict had already defrocked and excommunicated Maryknoll Father Ray Bourgeois for the same set of issues during his tenure as pope. I suspect this incident was just the legal process reaching the needed action point at this point in time.
