The Senate voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to confirm Todd Hughes to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, making him the first openly gay judge to serve on an appeals court in the United States.
The Senate confirmed Hughes, a lawyer in the U.S. Department of Justice's civil division, by a vote of 98-0.

Unless his private personal sexual practices are an important part of the qualifications for the job, why do I know about it? Would it matter more, or less if he preferred trysts with animals? Since it is an important and relevant fact, I object to the appointment on the basis of his behavior.

I’ve hired many people and it usually goes like this:
Thank you Mr. X for coming in, let’s discuss your background, certifications and how it applies to our environment.
But, before that I’ve called all their references to establish their previous work, whether they were on time reliably, how much did they make and would they hire them back.
Then I would get down to the nitty gritty and go over my list of twenty questions and scenarios to see if they have decent troubleshooting skills as well as knowledge of the systems they are to support and I rate them on a scale so each applicant has the same questions and rating scale so it’s easier to compare how folks answered the questions and it is reasonably honest in that everyone gets the same questions although people will try and have tried to cheat or B.S. their way through.
Now!, it seems like the question is, Mr. Obama, do you like other men and are you out and proud. You are, hired on the spot!

I don’t wanna know about his homosexuality or his hetereosexuality, I just want him to do his damned job and make sure American liberties and traditions don’t get completely torn and tattered. I have much better things to worry about than who he falls in love with, like whether or not the unique traditions and freedoms America was once known for will be there in any capacity once I hit 40 or 50. If he does his damned job, people won’t really want to know about his sex life. of course, if he is as corrupt as the average Democrat, they will probably be coerced into giving him a completely free pass.
