Great article Ann! I’m sorry for the last 10 disparaging things I said about you.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how conservatives tend to be so purist, and when some prominent person says something that ticks us off, we blow them off and accuse them of going over to the dark side, or not being genuine. Elected politicians deserve that distrust more than most, but I keep coming back to: to be most effective we need to build more alliances for the issues important to us. Where we disagree, let’s not offer mutual support, but where we agree we should work together to get good things done.
