I live in Maine, and the Somalis settled here because of this state’s generous welfare programs. Also, it’s not cold year ‘round....this past summer was uncomfortably hot and humid.

Most of the Somalis are concentrated in Lewiston, Maine.
Overall, Maine is 98% white.
