The news is full of it. But most Christians know very little about it. Economics: its everywhere, influencing everything and so rarely understood.
Economics for Everybody seeks to remedy that through an insightful and entertaining exploration of the principles, practices, and consequences of economics. Thoroughly unconventional, it links entrepreneurship with lemonade, cartoons with markets, and Charlie Chaplin with supply and demand.
If you're confused about economics, this is the place to begin. We not only explain how economics works, we show how economic freedom is directly related to religious freedom; we explore the differences between socialism, interventionism, and free markets; and we explain how stewardship is at the heart of a healthy economic system...
Got this in the mail recently, and was astounded at the simplicity, yet clarity by which Sproul teaches this subject!
He begins with the assertion that the God owns everything, then delves into the need for man to work, own private property, and the government’s role in protecting the citizenry from fraud and danger but NOT intervening in the free market!
Sproul attacks welfarism AND corporatism...demonstrating how both are detrimental to freedom.
For anyone aged 12 or older, I’d recommend giving this or watching this with people who just don’t understand the road we’re headed toward.
God bless.
Later.
Hillsdale College is starting a new free online course, this time on economics.
