Gun rights advocates said Thursday that they had filed a federal lawsuit to block Maryland's new gun control laws from going into effect next week, arguing that restrictions on assault weapons and large magazines infringe on their constitutional rights.
The gun rights advocates, who include individual citizens, organizations and gun shops, say the Second Amendment and case law make it clear that they are legally allowed to own military-style assault rifles and magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.
In their lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Maryland, which the office of Gov. Martin O'Malley confirmed was filed Thursday, they say the state's new gun laws would not reduce crime but would make innocent people less able to defend themselves.

They are not military style assault rifles. They are neutered rifles which only fire semi-automatically.
Excellent news!
The leaders of the Once Free State don’t believe in the Constitution.
My understanding is that in Maryland, if you own a gun of any kind, including handguns or even old fashioned shotguns, you are basically looked at and treated like a child rapist/abuser and a Bundy/Gacy type serial killer rolled into one. And it is only getting worse and worse.
Meanwhile we spent our hard earned money defending our “rights”, instead of spending it on new guns and more ammo, they are printing it 24 hours a day diluting what you already have earned and what it will purchase in the future.
Plus buying any gun now moves you higher and further up the list for oMaocare intervention via mental heath laws.
America were in your twisted fantasy you think you are free.
The law is unconstitutional. I am afraid that some in the elected offices have decided they want to dictate to the masses how they should live.
I wonder how O’Moron’s gonna feel if his Nazi gun law is struck down.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
