While the administration maintains that ObamaCare will make health insurance more affordable for Americans, experts say that wont be the case across the board and some people could see their rates soar.
On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius released an overview of premiums and plan choices, saying For millions of Americans, these new options will finally make health insurance work within their budgets.
The administration also said premiums would generally be lower than what congressional budget experts had estimated during debate on the legislation.
But former Congressional Budget Office Director Doug Holtz-Eakin said Thursday, unfortunately you can go all through that HHS report and not be able to answer the most important question: will my insurance rates go up in 2014?"
"They cherry picked the data in order to highlight the fact that people of low income will benefit under the law," adds Avik Roy of the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a New York-based think tank. "But people of middle income will not. And they didnt really talk about that."

Obama lied. Health care died.
“government assurances” LOL
Government officials don’t even try to speak fact based truth.
They just say whatever furthers their agendas.
99.9% of everyone is some. The media are Democrat party whores.
As many people already know, next year there will be a 'fee' for not having insurance. But what they won't see is that there will also be a 'fee' for having insurance. Every insurer will have to send to the government a 'fee' for everyone they insure, which of course will be passed on to the person insured.
And then there's the 'Special Needs Kid' tax which I am being stuck with. Next year, that one will cost me an additional $625. And then there's the matter of finding a doctor since I have already discovered that I did not get to keep the insurance that I had and I liked. Premiums have already gone up in order to cover the adult children of my co-workers. Etc.
i wonder why deductibles and copays are never discussed ... only the “monthly premium”
lol
friggin’ retards
> government assurances LOL
Translation: government is goading the mouse into the mousetrap. Look there’s some cheese right there out in the open. It’s completely safe...snap! Got you right where I want you sucka...
Redistribution of wealth, pure and simple.
> i wonder why deductibles and copays are never discussed ... only the monthly premium
Hey its a great way to make lots of money.
Gov: Look, see we care about you so we’re giving you healthcare...buttt you have to pay for it. There’s a little out of pocket expense’ like say $6,000 before your insurance will pay for anything.
Little guy:Hey but my premiums cost around $5,000 a year. What if I don’t use it?
Gov: We get to keep it.
Little guy: What if you deny me coverage.
Gov: We still get to keep it.
Little guy: So this is really a tax and whatever you don’t pay for my healthcare you get to keep?
Gov: Yep. Sorry sucker. King Obama decreed it and no one stood up to tell him he couldn’t so he did.
As usual, the Democrats parasite base has been taken care of so they will vote for one more freebie in coming elections, while the dwindling, struggling Middle Class pays the bills for those riding in the wagon. Sickening.
“Some” fox??? Et tu Bruti?
The release of copays and deductibles have been suspended for a year by obama. No “offocial” data on out of pocket expenses will be seen until next year. Rush was on this yesterday.
RINOcare sucks. But it’s the law of the land so shut up and eat your peas!
The road has to be a little bumpy before we move right into single payer.
Somebody has to pay for the additional people entering the health insurance market, and the pre-existing conditions. Who that would be - the Obamacare advocates are a little short on that particular detail.
That needs to be a major talking point today as the vote approaches.
In Texas, family of 3 making $75,000, lowest cost insurance $389.52 a month after subsidy with a $10,000 deductible.
What do you mean some and could? Mine have gone up and my choices and options have been reduced. That was only as the first tentacles of obamacare reached out into the market. I’m sure next year my choices will be worse still and significantly more expensive. obamacare must go.
Amen!
