Kelly Ayotte's Letter to the Dopes Back Home
Senator's Office ^ | September 28, 2013 | Senator Kelly Ayotte

Posted on 09/28/2013 6:19:47 AM PDT by Jim Noble

Dear Friends,

On Friday, I joined members of both parties in supporting a key procedural motion - known as "invoking cloture" - to prevent a stalemate in the Senate that could have led to a government shutdown. Had this vote not succeeded, debate in the Senate would have come to a halt - making it harder to prevent a government shutdown.

As you know, I fully support defunding, repealing and replacing Obamacare. I outlined the negative impact this law is having on New Hampshire in a speech on the Senate floor this week. In that speech, I also stated my view that shutting down the government is not an effective strategy that will successfully stop the law - it simply won't work. Obamacare would keep going and we would harm the nation. I also discussed these concerns in a television interview on Friday morning.

While I voted in favor of moving the House-passed bill forward, I opposed an amendment introduced by Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) to add Obamacare funding into the House-passed spending legislation (frequently referred to as the "continuing resolution.") Repealing this law was one of the reasons I ran for the Senate, and I've voted in favor of full repeal and have helped introduce legislation to roll back its most onerous provisions - including the Medical Device Tax, which stands to harm New Hampshire medical device manufacturers.

It's unfortunate that the continuing resolution that was passed by the Senate Democrats breaks the law and exceeds by $20 billion the spending limits enacted two years ago. This is no way to run a government, with short-term spending bills rather than a fiscally responsible budget for the nation. With over $17 trillion in debt, I voted against breaking the budget caps. We must find a way to fund worthy priorities without breaking the law and busting the budget caps, and I will continue my efforts to do so. As this bill returns to the House, I hope we can resolve these issues and keep the government running.

The Old Bait & Switch Act is in high gear for the Nation. The Liars are called out, but will the People do anything about it come voting time?

I watched most of Ted Cruz’s ‘Shot Across the Bow’ and was very impressed. He along with Mike Lee have given me hope for my country in their very clear and concise analysis of what Obamacare really is and what horrific damage it is doing and will do to the country.

It is up to We the People to finally buck up & grow up & do our own share of the heavy lifting. Our Country is under siege from within. Our PINO hates America and is actively destroying it so that it will be unrecognizable in the very near future - Obamacare is the Trojan Horse that contains the necessary Evil to give the Federal bureaucracy total control over our lives. This isn’t just another train wreck - it’s much worse than that.

What Kelly Ayotte and the other collaborating capitulaters did was to SELL us out. Harry Reid needed 60 votes to allow total sabotage of the Citizens. That meant he needed only 6 Repubs to cross over — In the end only 19 Repubs remained true to their oath to save our country and voted against ending debate (cloture). Ms. Ayotte wants you to believe that if she didn’t do what she did, the whole Govt. would have shut down. SHE DID IT FOR YOU!!!! Horse DOOKEY, I say.

What she and her traitorous ilk did was allow Harry Reid and his evil minions to be able to amend the House bill with only 51 votes - so the Dems stripped out the Defunding of Obamacare in a Senate amendment which couldn’t be stopped by the Repubs. Now it goes back to the House of Reps where they either have to accept what the Senate Dems did with the amended language stripping out the Defunding of Obamacare OR stand their ground. So, the Govt. could still be shut down if the House Repubs stay strong.

Harry Reid & Obama need this law to stay as it is. Any tinkering to make it more acceptable and less negative would be counter-productive. They need people to start begging for it all to be FIXED...which means the final blow of Single Payer Govt-owned & operated tyranny.

Expect to see this kind of damage control from all the quislings in the GOP. They don't have the guts to stand up for their constituents. And their utter contempt for the folks back home shows through in transparent hogwash like this, where they try to spin cowardice into bravery.

Kelly, if you wanted to appear staunch, then you should have voted against Reid & Co.. Don't waste the ink trying to convince anyone to trust you again.

Better yet, send a bill saying Government, Unions and the Supreme court have been exempted, there fore everyone in America is exempted. Equal protection (punishment?) under the law. Case closed. Some friggin’ lawyer can word this correctly.

"we need to fight them now instead of later. "

The GOPe strategery sailed and sunk in 2012. NOW is later.

The GOPe has the power of the filibuster in the Senate. It’s no good if they never use it. If not now, then when?

Add Hatch and Flake, who were out of the Senate, ducking the votes.

“The 25 traitors with the help of their allies, the RATS/0bama, have no idea the wrath thats coming!!!”

I just sent a letter to my Senator, Burr R(NC), indicating my disappointment with his vote. Not that it’s going to do any good!

I bet Boehner folds.

I’m happy to be wrong, but I don’t think so.

No worries; you are NOT wrong! I’m convinced Boner has already worked out the details with McConnell and Reid. ObamaCare is a definite go!

Yep, she’ll really P....issed me off this time. Her claim that she ran for the Senate to stop this train wreck is pure BS. And, her assertion that shutting down the Government isn’t the way to do this makes no sense at all. You need to force the hands that passed this debacle to change. Shutting down the Government is an effective way to make it happen. Quite frankly Senator, just what have YOU done to stop Obamacare? Nothing but vote with the liberals to continue their agenda.

“The Senator who voted: “Not There, Don’t Care”?”

Flake and Hatch both didn’t vote. Both are Mormons, so I guess they just didn’t want to mess up “Brother Harry Reid’s” game. I guess that they will meet after church tomorrow to discuss how to further wreck this country.

The only thing your post proves is that she bull$hitted Cruz too. We can only take people at face value until they show us their true colors.

Doing a look-up, the following are "Class II" Senators, vulnerable in 2014: Alexander, Chambliss, Chiesa, Cochran, Collins, Cornyn, Graham, Johanns and McConnell.

We have to wait until 2016 for a shot at the "Class III" Senators: Ayotte, Blunt, Boozman, Burr, Coats, Coburn, Hoeven, Isakson, Johnson, Kirk, McCain, Murkowski and Thune.

Finally, elected in 2012, the "Class I" Senators aren't vulnerable until 2018: Barrasso, Corker and Wicker.
