In the case of the Sikh. He failed to respect legitimate authority in the court of law. All men in that court are to expose their head. Nothing keeps him from having faith in what God provides and worshiping God.

Thank you for stating more fully what I was trying to say. Despite the court's comments, the presiding judge is indeed the ultimate authority in his own little fiefdom and so long as he adjudicates the law fairly he can do so in any manner he sees fit.

I may not respect a particular judge or the rulings he hands down, but I still take off the hat, don't slouch, try to be polite, and always answer "Yes, your Honor" and "No, your Honor" when addressed.

What honour when there is no respect (for the judge or his judgments)? And if so, why the courtesies, when they are merely lies? Why support the hypocrisy?

Let no man bow before another man.

If only King George III used judges and the Founders had rolled over like lap-dogs to their "authority", the Union Jack would still be flying over America.
