Information, please. I’ve heard that SpaceX is heavily funded by the Federal govt., and that the founder is a big Obama supporter. Either or both true, and what might they mean for the company’s and private space flight’s futures?

I’ve heard that SpaceX is heavily funded by the Federal govt., and that the founder is a big Obama supporter. Spacex and Blue Origin have received a contract to develop launch capability to resupply the ISS. For some reason, SpaceX gets a lot of hate on FR for this, while Blue Origin does not. Nor does Northrop Grumman or the United Launch Alliance when they launch vehicles for the government.
