"Durbin said he's ready to put a medical device tax repeal "on the table," but only on one condition. House Republicans must first pass a short-term spending bill without any anti-Obamacare provisions."

Only a moron would fall for this ruse. Yes, everybody hates the medical device tax... but that's the point. You want the Dems to have to defend this odious provision next fall.

They had to "pass it to find out what was in it". Now they're seeing what's in this Pandora's Box. Tough. No more "compromising" on Democrat terms.

I thought the Dems weren’t going to negotiate.

So less than 12 hours after the EVIL Republicans shut down the Government Cheese Truck Little Dick Turbin is looking for a way out of it? Must be the Barking dog behind the door ended up being a shi-tzu.

Maybe those internal polls aren’t looking so good for Harry Reid and Nero.

They must get rid of the mandate against religious freedom...or take it to the Supreme Court.

They can argue the point all they want, but the price of devices and services are simply adjusted to pass the cost of this excise tax on to the lowest rung on the ladder - the patient.

Device tax should have never been in the law in the first place.

Correct.

The GOP should stay out of the business of trying to fix the rough edges on socialist policy. Its all bad.

Nothing is on the table. “My way, my way, or my way” are the only three alternatives allowed.

Fine. We are “unfunded”. Not that there was a budget anyway, and a “continuing resolution” is only a stopgap until a real budget is passed. What has it been, five years now?

Harry Reid has been the “dog in the manger”, lying there and snapping at any horse that dares approach and try to nibble a little hay. That there is the totally unresponsive and irresponsible Current Regime now squatting in the White Hut, the supposed center of power in that territory once known as “the United States of America”, only provides a backdrop for massive malfeasance.

I do not know this country where we are all being held hostage. But I sure don’t have to like it.

Dickie Turban’s DemoRats promising to repeal a tax is like a wolf promising to refuse a slab of meat.

They won't negotiate to help the people. They will negotiate to help their corporate sponsorship.

I know this has been suggested before, but we should start pushing for members of Congress to start dressing like race car drivers, with sponsor labels all over their clothing. The size of the labels would indicate how much money they take. No space left over, means no more corporate money. I know this gives certain fatties a money advantage, but when politicians are working we should know who they are representing. It sure as $&@t isn't us.

It’s not bad for the big businesses dropping employee health care coverage and dumping that expense onto the government run kenyancare exchanges.

It’s all going to come down to a battle between states with substantial employment in that industry (CA, MN, IL, PA...) and those who don’t.

Where is McConnell?

He's more suited for standing tall out there in the cornfields performing more noble and useful 'scarecrow' duties.

Exactly! Let them defend Obamacare with that regressive tax in it.

I would also think there should be a new law requiring truth in bill writing. The name of the bill should have the true function of the bill, and the corporate beneficiaries should be named. The ACA would be renamed “The mandatory health insurance act” and would end with “This bill was bought by contributions from the health insurance industry, etc.” No more riders either. The defense authorization bill should not include funding for building Taj Mahal style bus stops in a Congressman’s district.
