Women cannot have a "wife". Only men. Likewise, men cannot have a "husband", only a wife.

Simple. Biological. Fact.

I went to the church’s web site; Lisa is formally an associate pastor there, and she and her husband head up the “marriage ministry” at the church.

I s’pose we could argue about the nomenclature, but she is clearly a leader in the “ministry”, by whatever name the local body chooses. She isn’t necessarily being given unbiblical authority over the male leader of the church. ;)

They could have a hermaphordite spouse, but it wouldn’t be a wife... or a husband it would be a hufe or a wisband...

But those instances are exceedingly rare

To use an old worn out phrase, it is what it is.
