“Several of his books have been made into movies.”
From the look of that list, ALL of his books have been made into movies. And notwithstanding Ben Affleck and Alec Baldwin, pretty good ones.

Democrat voter?? Clancy was to the best of my knowledge a lifelong conservative and NRA member for over 30 years.

Good author, Democrat voter,
Now that he's dead he'll get to vote six times.

Sorry to hear about Tom Clancy’s passing. He’s been one of my favorite authors. Condolences to his family.

Red most of them. “Red Storm Rising” and Cardinal of the Kremlin” were the best.
Pretty much stopped reading after “Rainbow 6” because it was entirely predictable, but I did love the ending.

And you know this how? From Wikipedia:
Political views
A longtime holder of conservative and Republican views, Clancy’s books bear dedications to American conservative political figures, most notably Ronald Reagan. A week after the September 11, 2001 attacks, on The O’Reilly Factor, Clancy claimed that left-wing politicians in the United States were partly responsible for September 11 due to their “gutting” of the Central Intelligence Agency.[12]
Clancy was also a Life Member of the National Rifle Association since 1978.[17]

Wikipedia is a poor place to find out anything. I heard from his own words.

I couldn’t get through the first page of one of his books. Me and Christopher Buckley.
