The White House session tonight was important, but perhaps an even more critical meeting for Speaker John Boehner took place earlier today in his Capitol office.
He met with a group of more than a dozen moderate Republicans, urging them to stick with him in what he acknowledged was an anxious and tense period during the government shutdown. “Trust me,” was the message relayed from Boehner, one lawmaker told ABC News.

The speaker and other House Republicans increasingly believe a deal on the budget impasse should be joined with talks on raising the debt ceiling. It would give his side more leverage in the negotiations. This was one topic of discussion at the White House tonight.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor hinted that some kind of compromise would ultimately happen from Republicans. “Americans believe, as do we, neither side gets everything,” he told ABC News earlier today.

But I think that was ALREADY in the original legislation. The executive branch “deemed” otherwise, chose not to enforce that part, and made a rule allowing subsidies.
That is what is so cockeyed about it. The Assclown is NOT enforcing the law, but picking which parts to enforce.
Mandate on individuals? enforced.
Mandate on businesses? not enforced.

This is all for show for the Tea Party ain't it Boehner and Cantor. Thanks Cantor, you just showed the GOP's hand and we caught you with the ace up your sleeve.
Boehner is another Washington lifer who will do and say anything to keep his power base. I wouldn’t trust him period. He’ll act conservative when he needs to but more often than not he’ll cut deals with the other side and claim later he fought hard but had to take the best deal he could to save the party. John Boehner, Everett Dirksen, Robert Michel and Gerald Ford. No offense to you midwesterners, but what is it with that part of the country that has given us too many Republican leaders, past and present, who are way too cozy with the other side and have thumbed their noses at the conservatives in the party.
