A new Landmark/RosettaStone poll conducted yesterday of 1000 registered voters says 46% of Georgians blame Democrats for the partial federal government shutdown, 39% blame Republicans. More (received via press release):
The numbers among self described independents is more informative, with Independent voters blaming the Democrats by an aggregated margin of 53%-29%. 17% of Independent voters also surveyed say they think all sides share some of the blame.
The survey also asked voter opinion of the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare. 56% of Georgia voters say they want Obamacare either de-funded or delayed by one year. Only 33% of the Georgia voters surveyed say they want Obamacare to be fully funded and implemented."
Meanwhile, in the rat polling sewer command.
Zogby: “But, but, but... the polls said they’d all blame the Republicans.”
Nate Shillver: “ What about our precious senate chances! This poll must be a right wing forgery!”
Michelle Nunn: “I can still win! send me money!”
This poll is bearing out the reality that is materializing. We can thank the hype related to the Sequester which did not result in the end of the world and so far the shutdown hasn’t either but there is one reality for a huge number of people this month and it is that Obamacare is becoming their reality. They are seeing their healthcare premiums rise they are seeing that they are going to have to buy Obama’s approved insurance whether they want to or not. Also this is NOT like 1995. The Democrats have both the Presidency and the Senate this time. It is not the House and Senate against a sitting President.
Too many GOP did not appreciate these differences in their simpleton calculation of the fallout related to this. Part of it is because many of these guys don’t see Obamacare as being that bad. They are insulated in their DC and upper class bubble. The GOP needs to hold the line and they can win this. I just hope they don’t set themselves up for giving up too much because in the end the Democrats are going to be begging for this endless highlighting of Obamacare to be over. Its one reason why you don’t see but a handful of Democrats in very BLUE states/districts coming out in defense of Obamacare. The rest just want it to go away. The only reason they haven’t fractured is because ideologically they agree with the huge bureaucratic approach that is Obamacare. They don’t care home many people lose jobs or are hurt because for them it just presents them more opportunities to give crap away and build even more bureaucracy.
#4, great post.
I hope you get screwed from all sides. Every direction. As hard and as unpleasantly as possible.
“Poll: Georgians Blame Democrats For Shutdown, Want ACA Repealed Or Delayed”
I don’t understand the point of delaying it. It’s no damned good, and never will be. It’s NOT the no good it was when it was voted, and signed into law by the Democrats, because they have screwed around with it, and made it a different no good now.
Anything that starts out rotten stays rotten all the way through the process of “we gotta try it” only to ultimately be tossed in the trash heap.
Stop the costs of this rotten law now as it is, and will always be no good unless we want a hole to toss money into, and want to turn our great healthcare system into something so rotten we have to go to Witch Doctors in Borneo for better treatment.
Bump
Well, what happens a little over a year from right now?
Shut it down until weeds are growing in the center of Pennsylvania Avenue.
I'm surprised that many of them think, but they probably don't think often.
If they were actually paying attention, they wouldn't be "independents".
A year from now will be October before the 2014 election. That would be worse and they would need to delay a little longer to get past the election and then.... rinse repeat.
But in the mean time they are collecting extra taxes alllllll this time. 3 years and counting.
Meanwhile they could continue with the piecemeal CRs, let several worthless and hated agencies go dark, and beat Dingy Harry and the RATs over the head with the fact that the Senate hasn't passed a budget in five years (while the Republican House has)
“Well, what happens a little over a year from right now?”
Congratulations! You got the point.
I got the point the second those words came out of Boner's mouth.
Good!
I wonder how many are thinking about WHAT IF!? relative to Hitlery’s running for POTUS in 2016, and the “delayed healthcare” attempt, or is anyone else thinking beyond 2014?
Curious.
Beyond?...think back....to 1993....Americans rejected HillaryCare.....BIG TIME!
(except the moronic Northeastern states)
Yes, but IF today’s Healthcare Obamanation still exists even IF in remnants, and she’s elected......
The only way to get rid of Obamacare IS to kill it. No delays, no alterations, kill it now, and with wording within the kill law that not only kills it, but precludes the Federal Government under any circumstances from the ability to ever bring it up again.
With whose army? You see how much we have to work with. VA Republicans seem to be caving.
Quote not in article, but keep beating that drum, Republicans!
