California exchange overstated its Web traffic for Obamacare launch

State officials said the Covered California website got 645,000 hits during the first day of enrollment, far fewer than the 5 million it reported Tuesday.

The state exchange had cited the 5 million figure as a sign of strong consumer interest and a major reason people had so much difficulty using its $313-million online enrollment system.

Dana Howard, a spokesman for Covered California, said the error was the result of internal miscommunication.

So its safe to assume the 313 million dollars didn’t include load testing.

Mind boggling, isn't it? Think of it as 313 people getting a million bucks each to set up a website. And all 313 failed, defying the law of averages.

And at least 600,000 of those are Takers, eager to snag FREE health care to go with their SNAP cards and ObamaPhones. Freebies draw free-loaders like manure draws flies. Let’s see how many of those young, healthy CA citizens sign up to pay exorbitant premiums and outrageous deductibles to finance the Takers.

They can't add numbers, but these same folks are now going to be in charge of our health care. What could go wrong.

A “hit” means NOTHING. Every time a page is reloaded, that is a “hit.” Each of us “hits” FR dozens of times per day. We object to blog excerpts because then the blog “hit” count increases. If I had all day, I alone could provide thousands of “hits” to any website I choose.
