INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. A man was shot on the near south side of the city early Thursday morning during a home invasion.
The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Kennington St around 4:50 a.m.
According to a woman living in the house, the homeowner shot the intruder after the man entered their home with a crowbar.
She heard a noise like someone kicking in the door [and] then she heard a window bust in, said Crystal Abbeduto, who said her mother, father and 22-year-old sister live in the home.

One point for the good guys!
Negative one for the bad guys.
Marktwain, thank you for your efforts to share these happy stories... It is appreciated.
If we don’t need guns because we have policemen, we don’t need fire extinguishers or sprinklers because we have firemen.
(Of course, guns aren't licensed in the State of Indiana, but still...)
the report later says.
“Police told Fox59 the intruder was a 27-year-old male. He was shot in the stomach and transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.”
should have aimed higher......
You are welcome. The more these stories are made common knowledge, the more people will be dissuaded from breaking into peoples’ homes.
The MSM does the nation a disservice by not publishing these stories more often.
It must hurt getting shot on the “south side” but I guess there are worse parts to get shot.
Exactly. Also the more they are published, the more some of the anti-gun crowd might see themselves as potential victims who are not helpless if armed.
Ha - that reminds me of the old joke about a doctor describing a gun shot wound as being in “the lumbar area”, and it being relayed that the guy was shot in the woods...
