Because the LIV will remember the initial reports. Then when a call comes for sensible, reasonable, common sense modest minor much needed gun safety reforms, they will have memories of many dangerous times reported in the news about lockdowns, AR shotguns, active shooters, backed up by visual memories of cops standing around while their vehicle lights flash.

Maybe the surrounding cops HEARD the gunfire but had no way of knowing who was doing the shooting.
