Its stupid but fair is fair. If I can’t drive within 1000 feet of a school while carrying a firearm then cops shouldn’t be allowed either.

IIRC there are jurisdictions where a law enforcement officer is requied by law and or regulation to carry a firearm at all times in public places and aboard public transportation, under the theory that police officers are never entirely free of their duty in their jurisdiction.

But what happens if you’re driving from point A to point B and you have a few schools you have to pass? Whatever road you choose to go around them has a school on it. So how do you move your “weapons” to where you want to take them?

Just FYI, if you obtain a concealed carry permit in AZ you are not subject to the 1000’ restriction. Carrying a weapon onto school grounds, however, would still be an issue.
