Democrats trapped by their seething hatred of Tea Party
Legal Insurrection ^ | 10/4/13 | William Jacobson

Posted on 10/04/2013 9:41:26 AM PDT by Lakeshark

Democrats’ seething hatred of the Tea Party movement has clouded Democrats’ thinking and ability to govern
**snip**
We have seen similar irrational conduct by every senior Democrat, from Obama on down to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and so on.
**snip**
Since the start of the Tea Party movement in the late winter and early spring of 2009, Democrats have been demonizing the movement in the most crude terms. Every time there is a public act of violence, the immediate response is to look for a Tea Party connection, which never is found.

It’s not surprising that in the past couple of weeks we have heard Democratic Party eliminationist rhetoric become even more shrill and hateful:
**snip**
This hatred has forced Democrats into a destructive non-negotiation position. Having framed the opposition as terrorists and suicide-bombers, Democrats have created a negotiation analogy from which it is hard to back down.

Democrats now will not even support funding they support, even for kids with cancer, because that would be giving in to what they perceive as terrorism.
**snip**
The demonization of the Tea Party leaves Obama no choice but to predict default on national debt, a threat he know does not have to be realized under any scenario other than by design, and to try to talk down the markets to pressure the purported-terrorists into capitulating.

Victory or collapse is not a good place to be in for a President of the United States. It becomes a disastrous self-fulfilling prophecy.

When a political opponent paints himself into a corner, that’s often a good thing. But not when that person is the President of the United States.

The answer is simple: The Tea Party represents American people who love Liberty, Freedom, and the Constitution. How do expect Marxists to react?

I don’t hate Democrats. I think a lot of them simply don’t understand what’s happening. I have Democrat members in my family. They only hear the left’s propaganda. For example, Obamacare is there to help people who cannot afford insurance on their own. That’s not to say there aren’t some Democrats who know EXACTLY what’s up. Some of them are no doubt pushing wealth redistributionist policies for the express purpose of making people dependent. However, I don’t think most Democrats are like that.

I guess you could say I’m more along the lines of, “Forgive them for they know not what they do!”

The Democrats will always find someone that needs help, BTW, and Democrat policies simply don’t work long term. If they did, how come the government keeps borrowing money? If these programs are successful, why can’t Democrats pay the bills? I say if you promise something, you have to at least pay for it.

Democrat policies, even if well intentioned, create dependency, and the number of dependents constantly grows. Why bother, for example, to scrimp and save for the future if government will take care of you no matter how foolish you are?

Consider Social Security. I say, “If it’s such a great thing, how come I was never given a choice to join it?” A Democrat family member replied, “Because some people won’t save for retirement, and then they’ll expect you to take care of them!” Well, who says I have to take care of them in the first place? Why is that my responsibility? Even if I agree I needed to take care of the truly needed, all these programs do are create ever increasing numbers of needy. In fact, people who do act responsibly are the fools, because we’ll be required to take care of ourselves AND the ever growing numbers of needy.

It’s not like this wasn’t tried elsewhere. There was a very good reason why nearly everyone in the USSR was needy. If you weren’t part of the party, good luck getting your monthly ration of meat, finding a decently sized place to live, or seeing a doctor. THAT is the path the Democrats propose.

Great point. If we’re the terrorists, hostage-takers, bomb-throwers that they paint us as, how can they negotiate with us?

Why aren’t they sending out unmanned drones to take us out?

Their fear and loathing is well-founded. When society collapses under the weight of their entitlements, they know that there will come a reckoning.

And good luck getting away from us in a Prius.

I wholly agree with Charles Krauthammer. The Tea Party was born because of the legislative activity and the laws they enacted during the two years of Democrat rule in Obama’s first term. Now, with a split congress, what goes around comes around. Or as Obama has heard it, the chickens have come home to roost. Obama, Reid and Pelosi are directly responsible for the existance and strength of the Tea party!

The modern democrat party that is a front for Marxism, Socialism, and Progressivism are disciples of Satan himself.

I never really understood the wild reaction to the “Tea Party” that we’ve seen for the past four years. Been to a few events , and it was mostly little old blue-haired ladies from the Federation of Republican Women and similar groups.

But maybe the ‘rats can’t see past their own worldview — their own “grassroots” supporters are all astroturf paid union goons, so they can’t imagine that there would be any real grassroots opposition.

They really are only interested in raw power, and can’t grasp that there are still people in this country who are genuinely concerned about liberty, and restoring the Republic.

I just hope the Republican “Leadership” doesn’t fold like they did last time, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

All supporters of tyranny hate free individuals and freedom. Why...if people are free, they may disagree and tell them to take a leap.

*The unhinged totalitarian left is a sight to see*

Every time I've heard Obama defending the hideous UnAffordable Health care Act I've laughed out loud.

Such ridiculous, over the top, lies are humorous in the same way that Jon Lovitz Tommy Flanagan was. It is also absurd to hear him talking about the majority of Americans who hate this Socialist pile of Pelosi as “extremists” and whatever nonsensical insults he can think of.

Odd how the Dems call the majority “people on the fringe” like Al “Millions of Degrees” Gore calling the majority of Scientists who do not believe his scam the “fringe”.

How low does your IQ have to be not not see that Obama is lying?!?!?

That doesn’t describe the TEA party events I’ve been to. A very good cross section of men and women admittedly more likely to be over 30 than not.

I like how they’re calling Tea Party supporters teabaggers (i.e. homosexual). Are they gonna start calling black supporters of the Tea Party sambos?

I can see how the Democrats would hate the American Tea Party, considering the shellacking it gave them in the 2010 mid-term elections and seems poised to do it again in the next mid-terms.

Not just Hate — it is largely Fear. They know that the Tea Party is the only group in the US that can stop their march to tyrannical dominance.
