Reid apologizes for nasty tone on Senate floor

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid delivered a striking mea culpa on the Senate floor Friday as he opened the chamber, saying he and his colleagues have simply gotten too personal and nasty in their floor debates.

A day earlier Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican, had scolded Mr. Reid for attacking Sen. Ted Cruz, another Texas Republican, by name as they debated the government shutdown. Mr. Cornyn read directly from the Senate Rules that prohibit members from impugning each other’s motives or conduct.

Mr. Reid on Friday said it was a lesson all senators, including himself, should learn.

“I’ll work harder and I hope my senators will work to their best to maintain these habits of civility and decorum,” he said.

Exactly. If the polling was in their favor, he’d be doubling down.

I watched proceedings the other day where a Democrat repeatedly bashed another Republican Senator BY NAME. The 'moderator' reminded him not to do that and to state the Senators place of origin ("the good Senator from Texas", for example) yet he continued to state names.

The arrogance of the Marxocrats is disgusting. They have no respect for tradition, or the rules.

Obama or Jarrett must have told Reid that internal polling shows he's hurting the cause and he needs to get out there and grovel a bit.

Reid’s getting polling numbers and other feedback that shows the template isn’t playing out to their advantage this time. If his vitriolic attacks were working as planned he and his flying monkeys would double down. IMHO.

I’m still waiting for Reid to apologize for claiming on the Senate floor that Romney had not paid his taxes without a shred of proof then or now.

I was taken with the part by the sweet, specialness of John Core-none (TX), defending TED CRUZ from Harry’s naughtiness, when you know he loved it, and did Ted plenty wrong himself, by failing the cloture vote and lying all over the place now.

John Cornyn and Dirty Harry must go!

The Nevada Democrat said the chamber has “lost the aura” of Sen. Robert C. Byrd, the long-time lawmaker from West Virginia who was seen as a keeper of the chamber’s traditions.

That would be the KKK tradition?

The Democrats were calling Republicans “jihadists” repeatedly this week.

I thought the politics of personal destruction were behind us with the election of Fearless Leader in 2008.

Didn’t the WH say they need to have 2.7 million people sign up for O-care to work? Or at least get off the ground?
Let’s do the math,,the sign up period is one quarter long (approx 90 days),,,,and they need 2.7 million,,which means the bloated govt pig needs 30K people EVERY DAY to sign up..

.....that just isn’t happening right now,,as far as I can tell.
Uh oh,,what are the Dem communists going to do?

Telling America he could care less about kids with cancer isn’t a good platform to speak your cause.

Hairy Reid is a cold, callous, mean man, and he knows it.
