This is my Park Ranger anedote:
Wife and I were, once again, spending a week in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge TN area renting a cabin and going into the Smokies.
We had a massive storm come through and the wind was so fierce it did a lot of damage in the area including the park.
So when they finally opened it back up in a couple of days it got flocked with folks that were waiting to go in. But they basically just cleared the roads and a lot of the picnic areas were still shut down due to tree damage etc.
The one that was open was so packed it was a long wait to get a table. So we drove around looking for more spots. We pulled into one that was, technically, an overnight campsight. But each pull up had a table and it was open.
We stopped, pulled out our picnic lunch and a federal park ranger came by and said we had to leave. It was an overnight area only. No one, and I mean NO ONE else was in the area. I brought this up and he didn’t care...we “had to leave”. I explained everything else was shut down and this are was empty. Like talking to a wall.
Since he didn’t have a gun and I had at least 50 pounds on this effette little twerp I said “make us”. By the time his underworked, overpaid gun toting morons showed up that he called we were finished with our lunch and left.
Typical retarded government employee “just following the rules” even if they are stupid and irrational. What a robot. I told them to arrest me (and I’d sue the crap out of the Park Service and THEM personally) or shut up and go away. By this time several other people were coming in to just picnic. They gave up when half up them were VERY large men they knew they couldn’t take even with guns.
F them all. I don’t care if you’re the “one” government minion that does his job right. You are being lumped in with the irrational morons so YOU should do something to stop it instead of just worrying about your little job.
When a goverment toady brings that up to me I remind them of what our Founders gave up to get us here: Life, property and their fortunes.
Reminds me of when you complain about a teacher when we all know 90% of them are useless. You get the one that cries, “but not me”. Too bad. Try helping us get rid of them too instead of protecting yourself.
This proves once again that the “cops” will not be on the peoples’ side. We cannot count on them. Everyone of them could prove their loyalty to the people by simply calling in sick.
Now that is truly encouraging!
