During Carney's press briefing today, some reporter pressed the issue regarding the suffering that is resulting from the shut down (e.g. park closings, no NFL or MLB Playoff games for military, etc.) It was clear that this reporter knew these effects were being orchestrated by this White House. But instead of placing blame, he asked Carney what the President was doing to alleviate the suffering. He wanted to know what actions the President had taken to fix some of these problems like the park closings. Carney responded that the President has taken action by telling Congress to do something.
I was amazed at how weak and ineffectual Carney portrayed Obama to be.
