Clint Eastwood comes to mind, in one of the Dirty Harry flicks, "The Dead Pool." Posing undercover as a TV news cameraman, to a nutcase threatening to set himself on fire to get on the news: "Oh, we'll break out the weenies and the marshmallows, but we ain't gonna be filming you for the 11 o'clock news."
