Don't look now but our governor has been happily handing state land over to the feds for "buffer zones".

The light green is "inland buffer zone". I'm not sure what its supposed to buffer against because the boundary is between national and state wilderness.

Creek... that is not true. That land was Cleveland Cliffs land and is/was under contract for timber harvests. Since Cliffs sold that land, I do not know if the new owners have that right. But, having said that, there aint any timber left anyways since they simply clear cut it in case the feds tried to stop their end of the bargain.

And besides all that. I have been on every one of those raods. Logged on jobs along them. Like Melstrand, the little red line that runs west away from there was the location of the last job I did for Besse Forest Products. There is state land along that road.
