This bothers me. Anderson Cooper is incredulous Rep Neugebauer called out the ranger. But I am incredulous no MSM reporter has done what Rep Neugebauer has done.

I am also stunned at the attitude of the ranger.

Can someone help me out about the latter? What is it about these park rangers? Is the NPS a bastion of leftist, jack-boot wannabies? I understand park rangers have one of the highest education to lowest pay ratios in the government. They have to be college educated but their entry GS pay level is lower than most federal jobs requiring a college education.

Park rangers tend to be environmentalists, outdoorsy, Sierra-Club types. But are they also lock-step socialists? Do they really think they are the "good guys" and the WWII vets are the "bad guys" in this dispute?

People are not going to see the WWII vets as the bad guys. So they will, by default see the park rangers as the bad guy.

But people generally do not want themselves to be seen as the bad guy.

I would think the park rangers would be trying to slow-roll much of this, not eager to put up barricades. Is the NPS threatening the park rangers, or are the park rangers really this evil?

Typical bureaucratic mind set, which will probably be replaced by a robot.

Just like the Nazis at Nuremberg,”they are just following orders.” They are not patriots, they are just low-level government worker bees who don't want to loose their jobs.

You see what is happening is that TEA Party types are actually taking notes on these goings on for future reference.

Defund the park rangers by half or until these pukes somehow realize they work for the people, not the other way around.

Take notes. Notice 90 percent of the EPA is staffed with "non-essential" personnel. So next budget, defund the EPA by 90%. And so on.

I'm glad this 15% shutdown has happened. I'd like to see a 50% shutdown, so more Non-essentials can be identified.

Anderson can't believe the Congressman would criticize the low-level employee blocking the Memorial?

If the higher level assclown who ordered the closure was there, would it be okay to criticize the higher up?

Phony outrage.

Anderson should unbunch his panties.

It’s the typical jack-booted-thug-with-a-badge attitude that we, the people should have nipped in the bud about 20 years ago. THEY ARE OUE EMPLOYEES, living off our hard-earned taxes subtracted from dwindling paychecks.

Congressman Neugebauer is a sensible man of the people from the rural area around Lubbock, Texas. He does not like that attitude and was right in calling out this bureaucrat.

Rep. Neugebauer did what the representatives of the citizens are supposed to do—Challenge the mindless bureaucrats.

That he is being savaged in the MSM is further evidence of where their sympathies lie, as if any more were needed.

And when they are told to put your ass in the boxcar, they will do it without batting an eye. These are some of the most dangerous, I did not say brave, people in the World. whatever they are ordered to do, they will do.

I would have thought the same thing. Seems Obama has shown the Civil Servants a vision of a world where the Civil Servants have become the masters and the servants like it that way.

People don’t see the vets as bad guys but the lowly rangers are still a notch above a confrontational Tea Party Congressman on the sympathy guage. There needs to be more liberal voice calling out these abuses for the message to be less easily demonized.

why is this Park Ranger even there? She should be at home without pay if the government is shutdown. She serves no useful purpose standing around pissing people off.

Two park rangers to supervise the site and answer questions: non-essential.

Two park rangers to chase everyone away: essential.

Geeze Anderson fudge packer, and I can’t believe a plumber asked your messiah a simple question and every state official in OH looks into his personal affairs.......guess you’ve had your head banged against your headboard a lot since 2008 and have forgotten that “inconvenient truth”

This really allows one to focus on where the true lines are being drawn in this conflict

No. That would be racist.
