This government has moved from the progress strategy of bribing the people. It has moved to the much more hateful and dangerous strategy of blackmailing the American people. This will work only if the people believe that what we have really is owned by the government and that it may be used by us only at their whim, much like the royal forests in medieval times.
A good example of the Firemen First Principle took place in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They laid off firefighters and purchased an $850,000 three-piece water sculpture by artist Herbert Dreiseitl. This piece of art has not worked and has been a continuous drain on the city’s budget.
