Syria, Libya, Somalia, Yemen ... lots of failed states that we just need to keep our people out of. A couple of others (Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon) that are on the verge of joining that list.

We didn’t allow much interaction with Communists behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. I don’t see interactions with Islamics much differently.

We are paying to enforce the Saudi border with Yemen at the same time that the unofficial Prez order has come down to NOT enforce our own with Mexico.
If there is a historical precedent for that then I’m all ears.
