“This is not a man who sees America as you see it and how I see America,” vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin cried out to the agitated crowd during a 2008 campaign rally, referring to then-Senator Barack Obama. “We see America as the greatest force for good in this world” and as a “beacon of light and hope for others who seek freedom and democracy.” This was how “real Americans” saw things, according to Palin. As for Obama, he’s “someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country!”
There it was: the punch line that would resonate no matter what else was said or done— palling around. It had a special creepy ring to it, for sure.
When Governor Palin—or, as our late friend Studs Terkel called her, “Joe McCarthy in drag”—uttered it that first time (and ever after) the crowd exploded: “Kill him! Kill him!” I couldn’t tell for sure whether it was me or Senator Obama who was the target of those chants— perhaps both. I’d been designated a public enemy before. I knew the territory pretty well and accepted the consequences with some equanimity, but now poor Barack Obama as well was forced to play Ibsen’s brilliant character, the embattled Dr. Thomas Stockmann, the “enemy of the people.” Stockmann was viciously taunted in the public square by a chorus of townspeople bent on delusion and self-deception: Kill the enemy of the people!
There was no way to prepare for what was about to hit me, of course....

Nothing critical of you. it’s just that this pos in DC has been well mentored from Frank Marshal Davis, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayres, Bernadette Dorn, his own mother and maternal grandparents and the Chicago machine. His real father boogied out while he was small and let the baby mommy take care of his filthy little progeny. His step father mentored him in being a good little Muslim.
I learned about Bill Ayres 25 years ago and have been ringing the bell about him and his plans for America for that long.
IF someone had made Bill Ayres road kill, the world would be a more peaceful place.
Go back and read the public comments that follow the story. It is TOTALLY WORTH GIVING SALON A HIT, because the vast majority of the comments are from folks who do and don't think Palin is valid, but who pretty much all agree that Ayers is a bad dude and a jerk. ALMOST ALL OF THEM are thinking like us.
Though they'd never in a million years vote for a Republican, just like I'd never in a million years vote for a Democrat.
Just because it's in Salon, doesn't mean Salon's readers don't think Ayers isn't a self-pitying whiny terrorist traitor. Judging by the comments, a whole lot of them DO. One more bit of evidence that America leans a lot more to the right than the America the MSM tells us we live in.

Tucker Carlson had won a charity auction (Illinois Humanities Council). The item being auctioned was a home-cooked meal prepared by Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. According to Breitbart, whom Carlson invited as a guest, the meal was quite excellent.

Delusional. Absolutely delusional. I tried to read the article, but like much of what is written by a leftist, the prose was turgid and stale. I literally couldn’t drag myself through it.
And to think these folks are now in control of much of the federal government. They’re setting things up for the genocide they so orgiastically desire. God willing it won’t come to that, but you can smell the hate amid the phony intellectual prose.
