Stitches — sounds like he’s probably okay then. It’s really pretty amazing how much punishment the human body can take.

My .45 only has a ten round mag while my 9 mm is 16 so I usually carry it. Both CZs. My first real pistol was a Browning ‘Hi-power’ so I got used to and like that grip.
I’ve never read here of a gang of ferals larger than 15. Yep, be prepared. I’ll be happy if I never have to draw again but have had to a couple times.

One of these days Reggie is going to flip off the wrong person and that person is going to break off one or both his middle fingers, hopefully that’ll happen soon.

Reggie, per Chance, may find out that there are other ways a middle finger is used, IN PRISON.

Hey Reggie. May you drop all your bars of soap in the shower, and may the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate (one of your cellmates), greet you every day.

Based on everything I’ve read, this guy is a thug.

But it’s hard to fault anyone for flipping off a reporter. Would you want a reporter in your face?

Reginald (Reggie) Chance, 37, was in Manhattan Criminal Court facing assault and gang assault charges in the brutal beating of Alexian Lien when he flipped off reporters with both middle fingers moments before he appeared in front of a judge.

Is this guy one of the 'off-duty cops' who were in the biker group?

My 45 is a full sized 1911, so 8+1. My 9mm holds 15+1. I always have spare mags, whichever one I’m carrying. On a recent trip with my wife I brought a carry and a spare carry piece for her (both have our CC permits). Even after 20+ years of marriage communications can break down. She brought a carry and a spare for me. We ended up on our romantic weekend getaway with 4 firearms and 100+ rounds. ;-) I love that woman.

I am trying to get the facts straight here. From my understanding, there was a group of thug motorcycle clowns riding through NYC creating trouble. This poor guy driving the Range Rover gets int a minor accident causing minor injuries to one of them. The remainder of this group decides to start a fight with the guy driving the Range Rover. The guy driving the Range Rover drives away to protect his famly and himself from the thugs. In the course of this event, the guy on the motorcycle in the original accident is hurt worse by the guy driving the Range Rover escaping the motorcycle thugs. Then, the thugs go after the Range Rover driver. Do I have this right?

A Double Bird! Real smart way for a man almost 40 years old to react. This story has gone international, and this is how you chose to present yourself.

we don’t really know what started it....but past videos show the bikers stopping cars from going on certain highways....the victims car was on the highway....I suspect the bikers were harrassing him ..I suspect that some video footage was deleted conveniently from these early on encounters....

That’s an interesting way of looking at it. Will have to try that on a gun-shy moron at work and see what happens. His whole argument is “what’s the chance of needing it”.

His whole argument is “what’s the chance of needing it”.

For most of us, the chance of needing our CC is pretty slim. I'm reasonably sure I will never need it. I am however 100% certain that if I do need it, I will want/need it bad. That's the crux of it for me. You balance the chances of something happening vs the seriousness of the consequences and the available mitigation options and costs.

If a nuclear bomb lands here, I'm dead. Sure, for a few thousand dollars I could build a bomb shelter in the back yard and maybe survive. So even though the consequences are dire (death) the chances vs costs vs probability of success mean I don't have a bomb shelter.

A house fire is very dangerous too, (possible death) yet highly unlikely (not counting wildfires I've only known one family in 40+ years whose house caught fire) but countering that with smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher is fairly cheap.

Etc. etc. There are numerous examples of things we all do to mitigate risk or reduce the seriousness of consequences should something bad, however unlikely, happen.

Having a CC permit and weapon is a counter against unlikely events with serious consequences. So yes, I'm willing to spend some $ and time preparing for it. The upside is it is also a fun sport so I get two for one. Hey, I could go frustrate myself in a bowling alley trying to improve my form and hit the pins. (probably futile) Or I could get the same frustration on the golf course trying to improve my swing (definitely futile). Or I can work on that perfect hand-eye coordination and muscle memory thing trying to put rounds on target. With the added, if unlikely to be used, self-defense role.

One of the bikers the ‘victim’ ran over.

From what I’ve read, he is not expected to wake up.

Twenty-one (21) prior arrests this 37-year-old scumbag has had already. He should have been put behind bars for life way before this current incident.

You expect us to have sympathy for the other biker that was run over while terrorizing a working man and his family who were just driving down the road minding their own business? By rights, the whole lot of them should have been flattened by cement trucks so that you would need razor blades to scrape what was left of them off the pavement.

“Chance’s attorney says that his client was trying to ID the driver who had run over Mieses.”

Normally people get a license plate number and call the cops.
