'Truckers for the Constitution' Plan to Slow D.C. Beltway, Arrest Congressmen
US News ^ | October 7, 2013 | Steven Nelson

Tractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally.

Organizers of the three-day ride want to call attention to a litany of trucker frustrations and express their disapproval of national political leaders.

Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway "three lanes deep" as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen for allegedly disregarding the Constitution.

The truckers circling I-495 will keep the left lane open for emergency vehicles, Conlon said, but "everybody that doesn't have a supporter sticker on their window, good luck: Nobody in, nobody out." The trucks will be going the 55 mile-per-hour speed limit.

D.C. commuters who wish to be allowed past the convoy must have "T2SDA" – an acronym for the event's original name, "Truckers to Shut Down America" – written on their vehicle, he said.

I think it might be worth pointing out the truckers in this story are on Obastard’s side, not ours.

Why do you think that?

Yup. “Blaming Congress” is code for “Blaming Republicans” and “Not Blaming Obastard.” If you don’t read the codes, you’ll never get through the media lies.

Might be because you excerpted out any mention of “arresting Democrats?”

When I drilled down into the article I can see this is the group of truckers that have been supporting us. I should have realized the short excerpt you posted did not give the true flavor, but I hate clicking “usnews” stories and was relying upon an accurate excerpt. Sorry.

Or just the provocation Barry needs to cry “Insurrection” and call out the brownshirts?

Good! Just like Damocles I am tired of looking up at the sword. Let's finish this.

Lived in Northern Virginia and worked in DC for eight years back in the late 80’s.

You do not win sympathy for your cause by slowing down traffic.

I wouldn’t think that “Truckers for the Constitution” would be anywhere close to Obama’s side. Where do you get a sticker? I think I’m going to need one...

This could make a lot of money for Transurban (the 495 Express Lanes “owner”).

One thing I learned way back when, when I worked for my Dad, taking care of the shipping and receiving, to get most accurate idea of economic conditions, ASK A TRUCK DRIVER. Or look in their trucks and see how much freight they’re hauling around.

I’m never certain how much to excerpt. I know there was a lawsuit against FR in the past, so I generally post no more than the limit under ‘Body of Thread’.

Mostly, I’m just trying to play by the FR rules as decided by Jim Robinson, etal.

I apologize if the post was misleading. Such was not my intent.

The promoters of this event don’t strike me as real truckers and obviously don’t have much appreciation of the costs (and lost revenues) suffered by an independent trucker to pull his equipment out of service (during harvest, the heaviest freight season) and drive to Washington, DC.
