U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent is among 14 House Republicans who have publicly said they would vote for a “clean” continuing resolution—not tied to defunding Obamacare—and he says there are plenty more.

Dent, appearing Monday on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” said that members have told him privately they would vote for a “clean CR” if it comes up for a vote.

A total of 217 representatives are needed to pass the resolution. Other reports show 20 or more Republicans promising to vote for a clean continuing resolution. …

Dent is a ball-less liar {what else would a rino congress critter be?} because if that were true, all he and his cohorts need to do, is vote on a discharge petition and no one could stop them.

There is either not enough votes or not enough guts or both.

Look, this thing is such a pure fustercluck, I almost wonder if we are doing them a HUGE favor by delaying it or defunding it. I say let them proceed. It will backlash on the left like nothing you have ever seen before.

Yes, they could point out how “clean” the process of enacting Obamacare was — bribes to certain districts and states for one. Since when is legislation ever “clean”? It is the most prevalent tactic to attach something to a highly popular or important piece of legislation. Just list a bunch of UNCLEAN attachments by Reid and Pelosi over the years.

The only thing that I am totally certain of is that Boehner would love nothing more than to cave — if he could do it without committing political suicide. If he can find a way out, he’ll take it.

He is not on our side and never has been.

Here we have another James Moran type who espouses voting the way the congressman personally wants to vote, not the way the congressman's constituents want him to vote. Put a big red X on Dent's name for the next election.

I cannot argue against your point but it would be the end of his career.

As stupid as he is, he’s figured that out — so I guess he deserves a half point there.

On the other hand, Reid has the same problem. If he fades, Obama/Jarrett will waste him.

I have an idiot brother, and sometimes we discuss politics, though I don’t know why, because his skull is thicker than lead.

He actually told me that the Republicans are trying to push a bill through with all sorts of goodies for “Big Business”, while all the dems want is a clean bill free of all that stuff.

You are absolutely correct. The libs only read the headline, nothing else. Like books, they can pontificate on all sorts of works they claim to have read, but never can they debate the content. Reading the title of a book, and looking at the pictures doesn’t make one an expert.

It is kind of a stupid statement. If Boehner actually brought up a clean CR, there would be more than 150 republicans who would vote for it.

There are NOT that many who would go AGAINST the party to vote for it, but there are a lot who don’t really care one way or another and will vote whatever the party wants them to vote.

The interesting thing is that there are a lot more republicans who would refuse to vote with the party FOR a clean CR, than republicans who would vote FOR a clean CR against the party.

That is why the moderates are losing — there are fewer of them than there are conservatives. And if they had as many votes as the conservatives, they would stab the party in the back in a minute and vote with the democrats, even if the democrats added spending to the bill.
