NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks briefly extended losses in late afternoon on Tuesday as President Barack Obama spoke about the political stalemate in Washington.
The Nasdaq dropped more than 2 percent during his remarks.

The market is still doing badly. He drove it down further today than he did in his last market-bashing speech a few days ago. I follow the Cubes as a good broad market indicator:

Under the King’s orders, the media is anxious to blame the Tea Party for America’s economic collapse just as they blamed Bush in 2008. After his comments last week about the lack of response by the markets, d’ya think maybe all his gabbing on camera is his effort to make the markets plunge. You don’t have to answer.

Doubt it. Heard a free market investor type today say the markets were due for a correction and this is a good excuse.

Elections will still exist. Totalitarians always have “elections.” With Democrat control of the touch screen voting machines and easy manipulation of other electronic machines I think 2016 is a foregone conclusion and I am not optimistic about 2014 whatever the polls might show.I think the last presidential election was tweaked pretty heavily. That worked well and was accepted by the populace so the obvious progression is manipulation of Congressional contests. If there is any subtlety on the left the Republicans will maintain “control” of the House but by a small enough margin that the actual control will be with the Democrats and their 20 or so nominally Republican allies.
