A few days he ago he “summoned” a coequal branch of government under false pretenses, presumably to talk, only to tell them he “refused to negotiate”.

Mr Obama likened Republicans using a looming debt limit deadline of 17 October for political leverage to political "extortion". And the Zero King isn't trying to do the same? C'mon "news" media, at least try to look impartial.

My hat’s off to those GOPers who are probably going to find themselves bounced out of office by legions of low-info voters next year, yet are remaining steadfast.
Right now, Obama owns all the cards, as his poll numbers move northward.. hopefully that will soon change.

The house should raise the debt ceiling for three months and stand their ground on the shutdown. Then Obama wouldn’t be able to cry default. There is a reason Jack Lew used extraordinary measures to have these two arguments at the same time.
